China voted against the UN Security Council Draft Resolution on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict!
Why?

China is by no means indifferent to the sufferings of the people in Gaza. What China opposes is that the draft resolution selectively avoids referring to the root causes of the current humanitarian crisis in Gaza, and fails to urge Israel to lift its full siege on Gaza and to rescind the evacuation order for northern Gaza. Such an evasive and ineffectual approach will only accelerate Gaza’s falling into an even greater humanitarian catastrophe.
China is by no means denying Israel’s security concerns. On the contrary, China has always strongly advocated that equal attention should be paid to the security concerns and legitimate rights of both Israel and Palestine. What China opposes is that the draft resolution attempts to establish a new narrative on the Palestinian question, ignoring the fact that the Palestinian territory has been occupied for a long time and evading the fundamental issue of independent statehood for the Palestinian people. It is worth being vigilant that the draft departs from the spirit of previous UN resolutions and embeds the dangerous logic of the clash of civilizations and the justification of war and use of force.
China is by no means indifferent to acts that harm civilians. What China opposes is that the draft resolution does not call on the parties concerned to stop the indiscriminate and asymmetrical use of force, nor does it call for a thorough investigation into the heinous attacks such as the one on the Al-Ahli Hospital. Such selective application of international law and double standards will only push more innocent civilians to the brink of death.
In terms of the content, the draft is seriously out of balance and confuses right and wrong.
China is by no means opposing the Council taking action. What China opposes is that the draft resolution is evasive on the most urgent issue of ending the hostility. It has never been able to call for an immediate ceasefire in clear and unambiguous terms. If a Council resolution is ambiguous on the question of war and peace and of life and death, it is not only irresponsible but also extremely dangerous.
In terms of the approach, the draft was introduced in haste and lacked the consensus it deserved. In terms of the effect, the draft does not reflect the world’s strongest calls for a ceasefire and an end to the fighting, and it does not help resolve the issue.
That’s why, China vetoed it!

This is a shockingly dishonest answer from the Israeli ambassador. When she says that Israel’s idea is that of a single Israeli state “from the river to the sea” where Jews and Arabs peacefully coexist as equals regardless of race or religion — a nice idea in abstract terms — she omits to mention that Israel is, and always has been, committed to a state which has a defined ethno-religious identity — a state which is, in other words, fundamentally Jewish. This means, and has always meant, first and foremost, maintaining a Jewish demographic majority — which in and of itself makes the integration into the Israeli state of all Palestinians, and their descendants, as equal citizens, a practical impossibility. Indeed, even as it is, since the passing, in 2018, of the controversial “nation-state law” — which stipulates that “Israel is the historic homeland of the Jewish people and they have an exclusive right to national self-determination in it” — Israel has essentially constitutionalised the Jewish nature of the state, in which non-Jewish (mostly Arab) citizens are afforded lesser rights than Jews, even non-citizens. For example, a Jew who is a non-citizen, with no relatives in Israel, and no direct connection to the state or to the land, has the automatic right to citizenship, and to assets bestowed by the state to go along with it, while a relative — even a spouse — of a non-Jewish citizen of Israel does not have a similar right. Now, I can understand why, for obvious historical reasons, Israeli Jews are committed to a national home which is defined by its Jewishness. But denying that this is the project, and that an Israeli state “from the river to the sea” implies the negation of a national home to Palestinians (and the integration of only a portion of the latter as lesser citizens), is, as said, fundamentally dishonest.

Israel keeps postponing its ground operation in Gaza. That’s mostly due to the US pressure and apprehensions of the Global South’s outcry.
One shouldn’t get deluded, however. The ground operation will take place, and the consequences will be hard and bloody. Moloch keeps demanding more and more sacrifices, and the mechanism of reciprocal violence is going to grind on for years.
Besides, the West’s got really tired of Ukraine, and now is eagerly supporting Israel. Even the new Speaker of the House of Representatives Michael Jackson (pardon, Mike Johnson, but that doesn’t make much of a difference) made aiding Tel-Aviv a priority.
Shouldn’t it be better to revive the Middle East peace process, and try to abide by the UN Security Council Resolution 242 (1976)? Or even follow the initial Partition Plan for Palestine, approved by the UN General Assembly Resolution 181 (1947)?
These are all rhetorical questions, of course. It’s much more fun to split the dough for the others’ war far away from the US. The war must go on…

Yesterday we urged the Council to call for – at minimum – the killing to stop in #Gaza, a #ceasefire. EU leaders have failed to do so. Like Parliament’s position last week, the Council conclusions signal a green light for Israel to carry on.

Wow! Unreported 1,000,000-word Maidan massacre trial verdict corroborates my academic studies by stating as its “categorical conclusion” that there were snipers shooting from Maidan-controlled Hotel Ukraina & that it cannot be ruled out that 8 protesters were killed & 20 wounded by “unknown persons,” who were not “law enforcement officers.” This implies Maidan snipers since the verdict states that the trial disproved claims about presence of Russian snipers. https://reyestr.court.gov.ua/Review/114304164
The verdict also confirms my study findings that there is no evidence of order given by Yanukovych or his ministers to massacre Maidan protesters and that 4 police officers were killed & 39 wounded by Maidan-snipers. In addition to acquitting two Berkut policemen for killing and wounding protesters, it states that all accused Berkut members were baselessly blamed for killing 13 & wounding 29 Maidan protesters. As usual there are zero media reports.

The US did everything to ensure that Ukraine did not survive.
The only US targets are to weaken Russia and to sever the ties between Germany and Russia.
Both worked. Except Russia reoriented away from the West and is now getting successful.
Germany not only lost the link to the gas fields, but also it’s life line for the industry. Dying.
Worst is the fate of the Ukrainians. They merely exist, almost dead, and this will not change until Russia reorients them.

When the NATO client media tries to convince you that Russia is your enemy, it’s worth remembering that the Russian people bear no animosity to the people of the EU or the US. They also understand what’s ahead and are ready for it. These are seriously tough people.
