• After responsible and serious negotiations conducted by the movement and the Palestinian resistance factions regarding President Trump’s proposal in Sharm el-Sheikh, aimed at reaching an end to the genocidal war against our Palestinian people and ensuring the withdrawal of the occupation from the Gaza Strip, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) announces that it has reached an agreement providing for the end of the war on Gaza, the withdrawal of the occupation from the Strip, the entry of humanitarian aid, and the exchange of prisoners.

• We highly appreciate the efforts of our brothers, the mediators in Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey, and we also value the efforts of U.S. President Donald Trump aimed at bringing about a complete end to the war and the full withdrawal of the occupation from the Gaza Strip.

Raised in a one-room home in a refugee camp in Amman, Jordan, without electricity, he transformed a life shaped by displacement into one defined by brilliance, perseverance, and discovery.

His story is more than one of scientific achievement — it is the story of a people uprooted yet unbroken. His family, like hundreds of thousands of Palestinians, was forced from their land, carrying only memory, loss, and hope. From that exile, Omar Yaghi rose to the heights of global science.

His identity has sparked debate over whether he is Palestinian, Jordanian, Saudi, or American; yet no citizenship can change where he comes from. He is Palestinian — born in exile, but forever rooted in the story of his people.

As Mahmoud Darwish once wrote, “We suffer from an incurable disease called hope.”

Yaghi’s triumph gives form to that hope, proving that even from displacement and suffering, Palestinians continue to rise, to create, and to illuminate the world.
