South Africa has launched a case at the UN’s international court of justice accusing Israel of genocide. Israel has responded by (deep sigh) accusing South Africa of “blood libel”.
Blood libel, for those who don’t know, refers to the way medieval Europeans would falsely accuse Jews of murdering Christians in blood sacrifices in order to justify persecuting them. Which is to say, Israel has responded to South Africa’s accusations by accusing South Africa of anti-semitism.
False accusations of anti-semitism are all Israel and its defenders have left. It’s the only tool left in their toolbox. Once you’ve exhausted the “But Hamas!” and “But October 7!” excuses they make for Israel’s deliberate butchery of civilians via airstrikes and siege warfare, false accusations of hating Jews is all that remains.
And it’s so sick, because it exploits a healthy impulse in those of us who oppose racism and genocide, and does so *in order to defend racist acts of genocide*. It causes people who care deeply about human rights to take a step back and say “Hold on, am I guilty of embodying the same hateful prejudices which led to the Holocaust?” and shuts us down and shuts us up, even as Israel rolls out its own holocaust against Palestinians.
It exploits a noble, healthy inclination we cultivate in ourselves in good faith in order to support the horrific genocidal nightmare in Gaza in entirely bad faith. It exploits our good nature to advance a profoundly evil cause. It’s despicable. It’s depraved.
But fewer and fewer people are buying it. There’s only so many times the boy can falsely cry wolf before the villagers stop running to his defense. Hopefully this desensitization that Israel and its apologists have created doesn’t have dark consequences in the future. It’s just one more ugly thing they have birthed into the world that the rest of us will have to bring consciousness to.

Where is the war in Gaza headed?
In the same direction as I already wrote.
The war will move in 3 phases. Hamas is the first phase where the goal is to hold out as long as possible and to cripple Israel’s army as much as possible.
This was confirmed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Amir Abdollahian, that Hamas still has many months of fighting potential. He also stated: “Today, the volume of Hamas and Islamic Jihad tunnels in Gaza is more than the whole Gaza Strip.
Since the beginning of the Al-Aqsa Flood operation until now, despite the terrible bombings by the Zionist regime, not even a single rocket, missile and drone production facility in Gaza has been shut down for an hour.” – alluding to the fact that Hamas is just getting started.
A Spokesperson of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad has also stated that although the decision to carry out the 7th of October was a Palestinian one, it was made in the wider scope of “The Axis of Resistance”, which is a general term referring to factions in Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen, and the country of Iran.
This is a confirmation that the entire operation to liberate Gaza from the occupation forces of Israel, which held Gaza as a concentration camp, with high bars, massive security and full export-import control, and keeping 2 million Palestinians in such a small space, is fully coordinated with the forces of alliance in the region and Iran as their leader.
Hamas fighters have entered this fight ready to lay down their lives and their goal is to eliminate as many Israeli soldiers as possible. For now, it is taking place according to the planned scenario. Hamas is causing enormous damage especially in the command parts of the pyramid in the IDF.
However, it is clear that Hamas is fighting against Israel and all of NATO, and it will be a miracle if they win a complete victory against all of them, but it will complete the task that was assigned to them. It will plunge Israel into a year-long war, cripple the Israeli army and plunge it into a severe economic crisis that even the United States will not be able to help them get out of so easily.
The already financed economy by the US after only 3 months of combats has fallen by 20%. The naval blockade of the Houthis, the evicted “settlers from the border areas of Israel and the war itself are taking their toll.
Meanwhile, while all this is happening and will continue to happen, shipments of advanced weapons and precision guided missiles to Hezbollah have increased exponentially. Iran also reinforcing its militias in Syria near the occupied Golan Heights. This was confirmed by the Kann newspaper.
The second phase will be a massive war with the far more powerful Hezbollah. Of course, this could change if Israel accepts a truce, which will be short-lived.
