Comments on the Current U.S. Budget Debate
(https://www.epicoalition.org/docs/comm.html)
The assumptions underlying the current budget debate are erroneous….
It is only after the deficit begins to expand again that the economy recovers. The historical correlation is 100%….
Contrary to general perception, fiat money is driven by the fact that taxpayers need the government’s money to pay their taxes. … so it can obtain the real goods and services it desires via the spending of its currency.
…. Treasury spending is a reserve add. Selling securities, by the Fed or Treasury, is simply a reserve drain, a monetary operation. This underlies the empirical evidence that nations can run any debt ratios they want, in their own fiat currencies, and still “fund the debt.”
How large a deficit is prudent? …., the government could offer a job to anyone who wanted one, at some minimum rate of pay deemed appropriate, and let the deficit float. This would end unemployment and unemployment compensation, eliminate the need for minimum wage laws, and promote price stability,…
The Federal debt is all the money spent but not taxed. …
The current budget debate is based on erroneous assumptions. Washington does not understand fiat money. Until it does, efforts to reduce the deficit will continue, and the economy will continue to underperform.

European officials have to keep the Ukraine war going and also the implementation of Russian sanctions because if they don’t their policy decisions will be deemed a failure and they then believe they will be forced to resign and it will be the end of their political careers.
So in essence, the war and the sanctions blowback must continue to save their political careers.
They also fail to grasp they are going to be held accountable at some point in the future. The more they seek to save their own careers the worse the outcome will be for them.

“Ukraine will cease to exist” – ex-CIA analyst on US propaganda and the future of Kiev
Former CIA analyst Larry Johnson told Redacted that American propaganda works on certain principles. Everything that the American media says about Ukraine is “disinformation and lies,” Johnson said. He is confident that the guidelines for propaganda “come straight from the White House.” At the same time, American intelligence knows the truth, since it “interferes in the affairs of Ukraine since the Maidan.”

BREAKING:
Barely 24 hours from the just concluded 15th Annual BRICS Summit, Brazil has proposed the Chinese Yuan as Trade Guarantee to Argentina as the dollar’s influence declines drastically in that country. So, in order to reduce the trade risks associated with the dollar, all exports headed towards Argentina from Brazil will be conducted with the Chinese Yuan amidst Argentina’s acute dollar shortage.
At the same time, Vladmir Putin has also just announced BRICS games 2024 and invited all BRICS member states to the epochal event that’ll be the first since admitting six more countries into the bloc. Extending invitation, Putin said “Russia will be happy to welcome BRICS athletes during the 2024 Games of the Future, which will feature hybrid disciplines in both traditional sports and popular video games.” The sporting event is slated for June 12-24, 2024.
In the west’s sanction war on RUSSIA since the start of the RUSSIA-Ukraine war, Russian sportsmen and women haven’t been spared. They have been publicly humiliated and altogether banned from nearly all global sporting events whilst whilst seizing the opportunity of such events to celebrate/glorify Ukraine and promote their course in that country. With the new face BRICS vis BRICS + Six and a dozen plus other countries on the wait list, Russian sports personnel may no longer be needing western sports establishment, from the look of things. What happens in 2024 at the BRICS games in Kazan will set the tone for where the future of sports in our world lies – in the hands of those who would deploy sports as a weapon of choice against their opponents or those who will separate politics from sports, obey the rule of law and respect peoples right to personal opinions.
As the BRICS summit got underway, the legacy media and their talking heads could swear that BRICS was not ever gonna be able to admit any new member, because according to them, BRICS was too weak, too divided to forge any more alliance past where they were before the summit. When the big announcement came, the shock on their faces was legendary. With all the pessimistic vibes they tried to give out, it now appears the BRICS nation are even running faster than many had anticipated. Just that they managed to find a crazy way to keep it all quiet and just show up with actions – something I believe the west and their media goons are still scratching their heads to comprehend.
Welcome again, to the multipolar world!

The common rhetoric we here nowadays about the Russia Ukraine conflict is that Russia is struggling to take Ukraine . Russia is weak and Ukraine is winning. “Why is Russia moving so slow? They must be losing!” Is what they say.
This cannot be further from the truth. For those who may not understand let me explain. Russia does not now or ever wanted to, “Take Ukraine.” Russia doesn’t want or need the land, resources or any such thing. Russia wants Ukraine to remain neutral and not become a part of or host NATO elements and to stop killing ethnic Russians that lived in Ukraine.
That’s all Russia has ever wanted. So now Russia is carefully and meticulously rooting out the Nazi element in Ukraine, Zelensky, exhausting western aid, weapons and mainly destroying the Ukrainian army that opposes them. Russia could in two days sweep across all of Ukraine, from Crimea to Poland if they desired but they do not.
Instead Russia moves meter at a time forward causing Ukraine to foolishly counter attack and sacrifice thousands for a village farm town. Russia understands that every meter they gain means Ukraine is forced to throw waves of troops back at them otherwise the west will see Ukraine as a lost cause. So Russias main strategy now is simply to drain Ukrainian troops and with nearly 500 thousand dead I’d say it’s working.
Russia moves forward 100 meters, Ukraine loses 20 thousand men trying to take it back, Russia moves forward 50 meters, Ukraine loses 10 thousand trying to take it back and so on and so on. All the while western supplies dry up, western economy suffers, and more truth is revealed to the world about the west and its imperialistic motives which fuels the growth of BRICS and a multipolar order.
To summarize the entire post, Zelensky and his western owned regime are a pest, a rat if you will. You don’t burn down the entire house to flush out the rat, you force and lure him out, this is why Russia won’t simply, “conquer,” Ukraine.

“I heard that lonesome whistle blow…”
(The sounds of silence from @chris_churchill, @DarinGerdes, @AlanChartock, @WAMCProgramming)
oooooo
@chris_churchill has lately taken a curious interest in me and my work. Curious because, frankly speaking, I’m an expert on Russian affairs and he is not, and yet he feels free to opine on what I have to say and write. This is, of course, not only his right, but his profession—as a columnist for the Albany Times Union, Mr. Churchill gets paid to comment on things, whether he knows anything about them or not. Journalists, one might reply, are wont to do this very thing; it is the nature of their work. True, but when a journalist knows nothing about the subject they are opining on (and this is a good time to interject that Chris Churchill knows nothing about Russia), then they usually turn to experts for guidance and information. In his latest diatribe against me and my work (Google it—I’m not here to help either Chris or the Times Union get views), Chris turns to@DarinGerdes, a professor of management at Charleston Southern University whose business, it seems, includes attacking me and my views through his YouTube channel (again, look it up. I’m not here to help Gerdes either.) The problem here is that Gerdes isn’t an expert on Russia either. Nor is he an expert on Ukraine, war, arms control, or anything other than promoting his curious concept of “leadersmithing”. But I’m willing to help both Chris Churchill and Darin Gerdes have their moment in the spotlight. If they are so concerned with what I say and write, and are so convinced I am wrong and they are right, then let’s debate the Russian-Ukraine conflict in a public forum. I propose the following: Chris and Darin on one side, me on the other. Moderated debate.
@AlanChartock and the fine people at @WAMCProgramming can play host. They have a fine facility, The Linda, WAMC’s performing arts studio. Broadcast the debate live. WAMC can pull together an expert panel from the regional institutions of higher education to comment afterwards. If you believe in what you write, Chris, you should want this. Darin should, too. An old-school manifestation of the American tradition of informed debate, discussion, and dialogue, done openly and civilly. You made this your fight, your cause. You brought in Darin as your “expert”. So I’m calling you out—High Noon at the Linda. Your chance to shine, to be Will Kane to my Frank Miller. Unless, of course, you’re worried that the roles will be reversed
The streets are empty…
It’s been more than a week since @chris_churchill published his opinion column expressing confusion and dismay as to why anyone gives a damn about what I have to say on the issue of Russia. I challenged him and his hand-picked “expert” on Russia, @DarinGerdes, to a moderated debate. Neither have responded. We have now found the new faces of contemporary cowardice when it comes to consequence-free criticism founded in fact-free opinion versus well-grounded expertise—Chris and Darin. They hide in the shadows of their respective cubicles, attacking others from the relative safety of their computer keyboards, free of the disinfecting danger of the kind of revelatory insights that come with having their opinions challenged in the arena of public discourse. I don’t believe in de-platforming. But everyone who reads anything published by either of these men going forward is hereby put on notice—they are little more than modern-day practitioners of yellow journalism of the highest order, intellectual dilettantes engaged in vindictive personal smear designed to distract their respective audiences from meaningful engagement on issues that matter. They are Russophobes of the highest order. The antidote to their ignorance is knowledge, the kind that is garnered through debate, dialogue, and discussion. I offered them a chance to redeem themselves through a trial by combat. They refused. Let them forever be marked as the moral and intellectual cowards they are.
