On January 9, 2026, Agnès Callamard, the Secretary General of Amnesty International, posted a statement on social media confirming that the United States and Israel are “destroying world order”.
Callamard stated that the U.S. is destroying the world order and that Israel has done the same for the last two years. She has previously warned that the international system is on the “brink of collapse” due to the failure to rein in Israel’s actions in Gaza.
She specifically cited German support as a contributing factor to this decline, noting that German and other European leaders have “governed over its demise” through complicity and silence. She has criticized Germany for using laws to curtail freedom of expression for those showing solidarity with Palestinians.

Lauder is an heir to the Estée Lauder cosmetics empire. He has a net worth estimated by Forbes at approximately $4.7 billion as of May 2025. He is a prominent Republican megadonor and has held diplomatic roles, while also being a major figure in Jewish supremacist philanthropy and the art world.
Lauder has a long history of involvement in politics and diplomacy, primarily as a Jewish supremacist and genocidal Zionist aligned with the Republican party. Here is where his money comes from, his role in US government and most importantly his huge investment in Jewish supremacist causes:
His fortune is primarily derived from his substantial ownership in the Estée Lauder Companies, founded by his parents Joseph and Estée Lauder. He also manages investments in real estate and media, including Central European Media Enterprises, a television company he founded and later sold.
He served in the Reagan administration as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for European and NATO policy from 1983 to 1986 and subsequently as the U.S. Ambassador to Austria from 1986 to 1987.
He ran for mayor of New York City in the 1989 Republican primary, a self-funded campaign on which he spent $14 million of his own money.
He is a prolific donor to Zionist causes and Republican candidates, including contributions to Donald Trump‘s campaigns and a $5 million donation to the MAGA Inc. super PAC in 2025. He has also been a major funder of state-level Republican efforts in New York, notably donating over $11 million to Lee Zeldin’s 2022 gubernatorial campaign. Zeldin is a fanatical Zionist having been co-chair of the House Republican Israel Caucus. Zeldin was a primary sponsor of the Israel Anti-Boycott Act during his time in Congress (notably in 2017, 2020, and 2022). He frequently described the BDS movement as “hate-filled” and “antisemitic,” advocating for the act as a means to “crush” the Palestine solidarity movement.
Lauder and Benjamin Netanyahu have known each other since the 1980s and were close friends and allies for decades. According to the Zionist press he helped make Netanyahu Prime Minister. Lauder was a key American conduit for Netanyahu during his political rise and was instrumental in his first prime ministerial win in 1996.
The relationship deteriorated around 2011 after Lauder refused to pressure an Israeli television channel (in which he had a stake) to block an unflattering report about Netanyahu’s wife, Sara.
Lauder was questioned by Israeli police in 2016 in connection with a fraud investigation involving gifts allegedly given to Netanyahu and his family, which both men denied were improper.
World Jewish Congress: Lauder has served as the president of the World Jewish Congress since 2007, where he actively advocates for genocide. Through the WJC, he has called for Israel to be admitted into NATO and has been a strong critic of Iran’s nuclear program.

That’s the same person negotiating Greenland’s response to Trump’s threats. This is economic infiltration disguised as investment and I’m going to show you exactly how it works…
This is the story the media isn’t telling. Let me introduce you to Greenland Development Partners. It’s a Delaware registered investment consortium. And if that sounds deliberately obscure, that’s because it is. Delaware corporations are famous for one thing and that’s opacity. Delaware is the shell company’s capital of America where you can hide ownership structures and avoid scrutiny. According to Danish newspaper Politken’s investigation, Lauder is a key participant in this consortium. And the consortium has bought stakes in two Greenlandic companies. One of these companies is called Greenland Water Bank: and it’s owned by two Greenlandic businessmen, Svend Hardenberg and Jørgen Wæver Johansen. Hardenberg is a former top civil servant and top adviser to the prime minister of Greenland until he got fired recently.
He was also the director of Greenland’s National Energy Company. In other words, he knows the system inside and out. But Johansen is far more interesting. Johansen is a former minister in several Greenlandic governments and he currently chairs the governing Siumut party in Nuuk, Greenland’s capital. Siumut is one of the four parties in Greenland’s current coalition government.
But that’s not the real kicker. His wife is Vivian Motzfeldt, the foreign minister of Greenland. That’s the person responsible for handling foreign relations, including relations with the United States. Just take a moment and think about what that means. Ronald Lauder, Trump’s friend and adviser on Greenland, is now in business with the husband of Greenland’s foreign minister. This isn’t just investment. This is influence buying at the very highest level.
And I will explain why that is the case. The company Greenland Water Bank, it sounds small and innocent, and it really is. In fact, in 2024, the company’s accounts showed minimum staffing costs of only $5,500 and a modest financial loss. In other words, this is a very small company. Greenland Water Bank bottles water from the Lyngmark Spring [near the town of Qeqertarsuaq on Disko Island]…They sell the water locally in the brand name.
Until 2024, the company was fully owned by Hardenberg and Wæver Hansen. Then they sold part of their shares to Lauder’s investor group. Now here’s what Hardenberg told the Danish newspaper Politiken about why they took Lauder’s investment. The investment is not the most important thing for us, but rather gaining better access to the luxury market where our water should be a natural part. When they tested the water, the conclusion was that our water was the best in the world. It is on the basis of that that they became interested in participating in the development of our company. So you could say Lauder’s pitch is very simple. We’ll help you sell premium Greenlandic water to the American luxury market.
But what did Lauder get in return? Why would one of the world’s richest men invest in this tiny company in Greenland? Is it the pure water in bottles that he is interested in or is it something else? The two founders of the company weren’t able to attract any other investors since the company started in 2016 until Lauder showed up. Personally, I can only see one thing Lauder gets out of this and that’s a conflict of Interest pressure point and a foothold into Greenland’s top elite. Direct business relationships with politically connected Greenlanders.
Think about it. Sums of invested funds can now flow very easily to Svend and Jørgen through Greenland Water Bank. It could flow directly as large salaries or bonuses or it can be in the form of a business trip, a fancy office, luxury boats or cars. All of course in the name of the company paid by invested money from Lauder. The possibilities for enriching Svend and Jørgen are endless and so is the money that Lauder has at his disposal. $10 million is nothing for Lauder who is good for 5 billion USD.
But being in business together can also be a pressure point. An investor can sue you and make your life a living hell, especially if the pockets are very deep and you can buy every lawyer and PR person to spin stories and drag people through the mud. That’s the negative pressure angle that this co-operation can also lead to.
But the most controversial part is still the connection to the active foreign minister of Greenland, Vivian Motzfeldt. The foreign minister previously served on the board of Greenland Water Bank, but she must have felt that that would have been too obvious a conflict of interest. But the problem is still there. It’s the family connection to her husband that makes up the problem in the company that’s now partially owned by Trump’s friend, who also happens to be the brain behind Trump’s acquisition plans. In other words, if Ronald Lauder decides to invest a large sum in Greenland water bank and also pay out a huge bonus to Yan, this money will also enrich Vivian. If it was almost any other investor in the entire world, it wouldn’t have been a problem.

In a blisteringly frank exchange with Kaitlan Collins, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani flatly rejected Kristi Noem’s claim that the ICE agent who killed Renee Nicole Good was “following his training.” Instead, Mamdani said what millions of Americans saw with their own eyes.
“That ICE agent murdered a woman in Minneapolis,” Mamdani said — no hedging, no euphemisms, no cowardly talking points. And then he went straight for the heart of the scandal.
“If that is following his training, then I think there are larger questions about the training that’s being provided to ICE agents,” Mamdani said, calling the killing “a glimpse into what has been a year full of cruelty.”
That cruelty, Mamdani warned, isn’t abstract. It’s terror — felt daily by real people.
“What many New Yorkers woke up with feeling today was a heightened sense of anxiety and fear as to whether they were safe in leaving their homes,” he said, emphasizing that more than three million immigrant New Yorkers — including himself — are now living under that fear.
These raids, Mamdani said, are “cruel and inhumane” and “do nothing to further the cause or the interest of public safety.”
When Collins pressed him on whether it was premature to call the killing a murder before the investigation concluded, Mamdani didn’t blink. “That was the conclusion I came to just in watching that video,” he said. “And I think that many Americans came to that same conclusion.”

I’m sick of everything being pinned on October 7 and of the endless excuses and blame placed on Palestinians. This is a video I made years before October 7, yet people still act shocked that it happened. What occurred was not sudden or random — it was the result of long-standing injustice. The responsibility lies with governments and mainstream media that ignored the reality on the ground, not with a people who have been denied their basic rights for decades.
The government and the mainstream media must now do the right thing. They bear responsibility for what has unfolded, and they must hold Israel to account, confront colonial injustice, and stand for justice, dignity, and freedom for the Palestinian people.

No Amazon, no Gmail: Trump sanctions upend the lives of ICC judges

Synopsis
International Criminal Court judges face unprecedented U.S. sanctions, effectively isolating them and hindering daily operations. These penalties, imposed in retaliation for investigations into U.S. and Israeli actions, aim to intimidate the court. Despite the challenges, judges remain undeterred in their mission to serve vulnerable victims.
To be elected a judge at the International Criminal Court was long considered an honor. For Luz del Carmen Ibáñez Carranza, the distinction has become an ordeal.
Ibáñez was a prosecutor in her native Peru, where she oversaw trials of Shining Path terrorists, of military officers accused of human rights abuses and of government officials charged with corruption. Death threats were common.
But since the Trump administration imposed sanctions on her and on some of her colleagues in retaliation for the court’s decision to investigate U.S. personnel in Afghanistan, she has faced different kinds of challenges, she said. The penalties effectively cut the judges off from all American funds, goods and credit cards, and prohibit individuals and business in the United States from working with them.
“We’re treated like pariahs,” Ibáñez said. “We are on a list with terrorists and drug dealers.”
On Dec. 18, Washington blacklisted two more ICC judges, making 11 of the court’s top officials — eight judges and the three top prosecutors — subject to American sanctions.
Some have been punished for a 2020 decision to investigate accusations that U.S. military and CIA personnel committed war crimes in Afghanistan, even though the prosecutor effectively shelved the U.S. component of that case in 2021.
But the main thrust of Washington’s sanctions is to press the court to cancel arrest warrants issued in 2024 for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel and for Yoav Gallant, a former Israeli defense minister. The warrants allege that the two were accountable for war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip.
The court is busier than ever, investigating claims of atrocities in Afghanistan, Libya, Myanmar, Sudan, Ukraine and Venezuela, as well as Gaza. The trial of Rodrigo Duterte, a former president of the Philippines, is expected to begin soon. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, though, has called the court “a national security threat” and warned that the United States could impose further penalties.
“We judges will be undeterred,” Ibáñez said. “I’m not here because I need the work. I’m here because I think it’s my mission to adjudicate on behalf of the most vulnerable victims.”
Kimberly Prost, a Canadian judge, has also been targeted by Washington in connection to the shelved Afghan investigation. She noted the irony that she used to work on the sanctions process at the United Nations as she described the “pervasive, negative impact on daily life” of the restrictions she faces.
“You lose immediate access to all the main credit cards that go through the Swift system, which is controlled by the U.S.,” she said. “My Amazon and Google accounts were closed. You cannot pay for your utilities, your subscriptions. You’re completely crippled when it comes to booking hotels, trains, flights. You can’t buy dollars because your name is flagged.”
“These coercive measures are intended to intimidate,” Prost added. “They may have had a psychological impact on all of us judges. But I can speak for my colleagues: We are not going to be intimidated.”
Other governments have attacked the ICC. In December, a Russian court announced that the court’s chief prosecutor and eight judges had been tried in absentia and sentenced to up to 15 years in prison. In 2023, the ICC issued an arrest warrant for President Vladimir Putin of Russia on charges linked to the invasion of Ukraine.
The American decisions, however, pose an existential threat. In addition to the sanctions, the Trump administration has urged friendly governments to withdraw from the court and has weighed measures to paralyze its operations.
In response to the hostility, the court is overhauling its American-dominated tech and financial systems. The court’s records and other data storage have been backed up at different sites, and finance and communications systems are being shifted to European platforms, according to several experts familiar with the court’s work who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive matters. They added that there were workarounds for safeguarding payments to roughly 1,100 staff members and for receiving fees from the 125 government members of the court.
The ICC’s service providers, banks and insurers that are not subject to American laws have been questioned to determine whether they would maintain their ties if the entire institution were subjected to sanctions. Those that replied they wanted to avoid that risk have been replaced.
Some European Union countries have urged Brussels to invoke its “blocking statute,” which would give member states the right to refuse to enforce American laws that conflicted with European legal rules. But that protection, experts say, might be limited; European companies that fear repercussions on their U.S. interests could cut off services to the court for commercial reasons.
“But,” he added, “the risk of an operational disruption continues to be real.”
