Aquí no hay heroicidades ni épica. Hay negociación fría. Y la negociación no se hace con el pueblo, se hace con la élite que garantiza orden. Quien crea que Estados Unidos —o la estructura que marca la pauta— busca justicia, democracia o reparación histórica, no ha entendido cómo funciona el poder. Lo que se busca es estabilidad, acceso a recursos y cierre de un ciclo incómodo. Todo lo demás es decorado.

Por eso insisto: el elemento clave es la traición funcional del entorno de Maduro. No ideológica, no moral: funcional. La traición que se produce cuando se comprende que el régimen ya ha caído y que es mejor recolocarse que resistir. Ahí es donde entran nombres concretos, no por conspiración, sino por lógica de poder: Delcy Rodríguez, Diosdado Cabello, Vladimir Padrino López. No como salvadores ni como demonios, sino como gestores del aterrizaje.

El detalle verdaderamente inquietante, para mí, no es un vídeo ni una filtración. Es la calma reveladora. La calma de quien ya sabe que no va a caer al vacío. La calma de quien ha recibido garantías. Nadie está tranquilo en mitad de una tormenta si no tiene un refugio pactado. Esa serenidad no es inocente; es estratégica.

Y aquí viene lo más incómodo: las transiciones tuteladas no liberan países, los reordenan. Cambian el relato, redistribuyen poder, blanquean a unos y sacrifican a otros. El ciudadano no entra en la ecuación más que como coartada. Se le promete futuro mientras se decide el reparto en despachos cerrados.

Esto no va acerca de izquierdas o de derechas. Va de quién controla las riquezas, el dinero, las armas y la narrativa cuando se baja el telón. Y si el proceso avanza sin sobresaltos no es porque el sistema se haya humanizado, sino porque ya se ha pactado quién paga y quién se salva.

Jeffrey Sachs condemned the U.S. military action in Venezuela as a catastrophic return to lawless imperialism, warning that an “unhinged” America is deliberately destroying the United Nations and international legal structures built after two world wars, with no global counterweight in sight.

“We have had a world of sheer imperialism that was not in any way tempered or bound by international law, and it led to two world wars and unconscionable, unimaginable loss of life. So we’ve been in this kind of situation before.

We’ve never been in this kind of lawlessness in the nuclear age, however, and I think that this is just extraordinarily worrisome: to have an unhinged, undisciplined, crude bully—absolutely lawless, absolutely disrespectful of any norms—as president of the United States, and to have no counterweight whatsoever in Europe, not a voice for decency or international law.

And for the rest of the world, well, I suppose that Russia and China are watching. They have said this is obviously a crass violation, and they’re not going to intervene in the Western hemisphere. But what has happened is simply another step in the complete dismantling of the institutions and lessons that we once thought we had learned from World War I and World War II, and had installed—however fragile—in the United Nations system and in international law. It barely exists.

The UN is in the same situation today as the League of Nations was in its defunct period in the late 1930s and early 1940s. It essentially is useless right now. And I’m sorry to say it because I’ve been working for and with the UN for 25 years, but the US has disowned it, is trying deliberately to destroy it. And while one hoped that the rest of the world would rally to its defense, we see that Europe is silent… I don’t see what is needed right now, which is the rest of the world rallying to the cause that this can’t stand in this way.

Maybe in the first hours, one shouldn’t expect this, and maybe more will come, but it’s a very, very alarming period. The US is deliberately out to rip up any semblance or shred of international law.”

Bloodshed, Violence & Deliberate Creation of Instability

Jeffrey Sachs calls the US invasion of Venezuela “a blatantly illegal act,” part of “a long line of blatantly illegal American actions.” He warns that Trump’s recent moves—from bombing Nigeria and threatening Iran, to invading Venezuela and claiming Greenland—expose “the end of constitutional rule in the United States,” with executive decree overriding law: “What is he whining about? This is ridiculous,” Trump reportedly said when a congressman cited the Constitution.

Sachs stresses the global danger of this thuggish approach, noting that US regime-change operations since World War II—numbering around 100—have a “record of bloodshed, violence, deliberate creation of instability, coups, assassinations, [and] civil war.” Despite this, the mainstream US media has largely stayed silent; “The New York Times… did not one time say, ‘It wouldn’t be a good idea to brazenly attack that country,’” Sachs observes, adding that Congress “doesn’t exist… in any operational sense.”

He concludes that Venezuela itself remains far from a simple takeover: “There is a government in place. There is a military. There is a mobilized part of society. There’s lots of guns around. This is not a smooth takeover by the United States, as much as Donald Trump might believe.”
