The office described the acts as a flagrant violation of humanitarian law and international norms, adding that several detainees were injured during the assaults, which reportedly took place on four separate occasions in December.

On 22 December 2025, dozens of Jerusalem Municipality workers, Israel Police officers and Border Police officers demolished a four-story residential building in Wadi Qadum, East Jerusalem, claiming it was built without a permit. The building contained 12 apartments where 77 Palestinians lived, including 21 minors. The demolition left all of them without shelter.

During the operation, the forces blocked roads and threw stun grenades at Palestinians who approached. Soon after the forces arrived to clear the apartments, one of the inhabitants resisted and confronted them. He was later assaulted by the municipal workers.

As part of its efforts to expel Palestinians and carry out ethnic cleansing, Israel enforces a policy that disrupts every aspect of life for Palestinian residents of East Jerusalem and is designed to push them out of their homes and city. This policy includes denying permits to build in accordance with the residents’ needs and carrying out home demolitions.

“For several months now, the entire world has had the opportunity to observe how the United States continues to deliberately escalate tensions around our friendly nation Venezuela under the pretext of combating drug trafficking and terrorist threats, while illegally destroying civilian vessels in the Caribbean Sea.

At the previous Council meeting, we all had the opportunity to see that behind this artificial façade lies the objective of building up American military forces and exerting pressure on an independent state whose policies do not suit Washington.

It appears that the White House has decided to dust off the repeatedly used practice of presenting the need to fight terrorism as justification for blatant aggression and interference in the affairs of sovereign states.

This time, the legitimate government of the Bolivarian Republic has been declared a “foreign terrorist organization.”

They are trying to impose on all of us the flawed logic that a single decision by American authorities is sufficient to transform a sovereign state into a criminal enterprise, against which any use of force can now be called a “law enforcement operation” and “protection of national interests.”

We see no point in delving into the absurdity of American pseudo-legal tricks—they are so untenable and don’t even remotely align with international law.

Especially since Washington has already made a full confession.

The U.S. President’s statement of December 16 needs no additional interpretation.

It is a direct claim to the natural wealth and resources of another state and an open, if not boastful, application of military-political and economic pressure aimed at regime change.

The United States is already backing up its directives with acts of outright piracy to seize sovereign natural resources, as we have all had the opportunity to witness over the past week.

We strongly condemn the seizure of oil tankers by the American military and the de facto imposition of a naval blockade of Venezuela. The actions of the American side contradict all key norms of international law, including the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, Security Council resolutions, and the Charter of the World Organization itself.

Colleagues, the blockade of Venezuela’s coast illegally imposed by the United States is a genuine act of aggression. Washington’s responsibility for the catastrophic consequences of such cowboy behavior for the residents of the blockaded country is also obvious.

Unfortunately, there is every reason to believe that U.S. actions toward Venezuela are not a one-time event. This unfolding intervention may become a template for future military actions against Latin American states in accordance with the so-called “Trump Amendment” to the “Monroe Doctrine,” enshrined in the recently published U.S. National Security Strategy. And this is an unambiguous signal to all countries in the region seeking to pursue a sovereign course and independently determine their economic, political, and cultural systems.

In Washington, they are ready to respect your independence and consider your interests only if you are willing to adapt to U.S. interests and pursue policies beneficial to them. As soon as you try to implement something for the sake of your own people, you will be treated the same way Venezuela is being treated now. Therefore, do not ask for whom the bell now tolls—it tolls for you.

We reaffirm our solidarity with the Venezuelan people in the face of the trials they are experiencing, and our support for the course of President N. Maduro’s government, aimed at protecting the national interests and sovereignty of their homeland. We are convinced that all those for whom international law is not an empty phrase must stand alongside Venezuela.

We note that Caracas has consistently demonstrated readiness for dialogue and cooperation with Washington both in the area of effective and coordinated counteraction to drug trafficking and in the fight against genuine, not imaginary, terrorism.

As far as we can judge, all countries in the region also support peaceful methods of resolving disagreements and multilateral cooperation in these areas. But Washington does not want to hear or see this, stubbornly continuing its destructive course, fraught with the most serious consequences for the region and the world as a whole.

We regret that the new American administration, which shows sobriety and pragmatism in a number of other crisis situations, remains hostage to approaches it actively criticizes in the case of Venezuela.

We hope that common sense will prevail, and that Washington will be able to stop in time and avoid a fatal mistake that will inevitably undermine long-term American national interests.

A full-scale armed conflict in Latin America, which still remains a Zone of Peace, is the last thing humanity needs today—humanity that President D. Trump promised to free from conflicts.

For now, unfortunately, the situation is not improving, and the United States, alas, continues to sow chaos in the Western Hemisphere, largely negating the positive from the actions and initiatives of the new American leader and casting doubt on his true intentions in the global context.”

When Polish MEP @GrzegorzBraun_ Braun stood in the European Parliament and spoke about ending the war, de-escalation, and peace, the chamber did not answer him with arguments.

It answered him with silence.

His microphone was cut.

Officially, Brussels says this was nothing extraordinary. According to Parliament rules — echoed later by Euronews — Braun exceeded his speaking time or drifted from the assigned topic. Case closed. Procedure followed. Democracy intact.

But politics is not judged by manuals.

It is judged by moments.

And this moment looked bad — very bad.

To Braun’s supporters and a growing part of the European public, the message was unmistakable: you can talk freely in the EU, as long as you repeat the approved script. Talk about sanctions — applause. Talk about weapons — nodsTalk about “as long as it takes” — standing ovations.

Talk about stopping the war? Click. Microphone off.

Yes, microphones are cut in Brussels every week. But here’s the problem: they are almost never cut when someone demands more escalation. They are cut when someone challenges the direction itself. That asymmetry is what fuels distrust — not conspiracy theories.

This is why the video exploded online.

Because in a Union that endlessly lectures others about free speech, pluralism, and democracy, the optics were devastating. A man calls for peace, and the institution that claims moral superiority shuts him down — procedurally or not.

The defenders of the system insist: rules are rules.

The critics respond: rules are applied selectively.

And history gives people a reason to be suspicious.

Europe has seen this before. In past empires, dissent was rarely banned outright. It was managed. Timed out. Framed as “inappropriate.” Declared “out of scope.” The microphone didn’t disappear — it was taken away politely.

That is what unsettles people today.

Because the real question is no longer about Grzegorz Braun.

It is about whether peace has become the only unacceptable opinion in European politics.

If calling for negotiations is “off-topic,”

if questioning war policy is “irresponsible,”

if asking who profits from endless conflict is “disruptive,”

then Europe is not debating its future — it is enforcing it.

Brussels says: no censorship took place.

Millions watching say: we saw it with our own eyes. And once trust is gone, no fact-check can bring it back.
