This is true — indeed, has been true for a long time — which means that all those who have supported, and continue to support, the war-at-all-costs strategy have been acting, and continue to act, against the will of the Ukrainian people, forcing them to fight (and die en masse) in the service of Western interests and their own frenzied geopolitical fantasies. Maybe that’s why the “Ukrainians have agency” NATO talking point has been quietly put aside.

I would just add there’s nothing “unjust” about a deal that involves giving up territories inhabited by people who have a very different ethno-cultural identity — and who don’t want to be part of the new Ukrainian ultra-nationalist, anti-Russian state. Indeed, the post-2014 Ukrainian nationalist project would have been better served by simply cutting loose the pro-Russian regions at the start of the conflict, as I explained in a recent article:

“We spent 12 days in a house, our mission being to observe the road. We carried four magazines of ammunition each. Water and food were delivered by a ” Baba Yaga” drone. We asked for food to be delivered, but in 12 days, they only came three times,” the prisoner recalls.

Driven to the brink by their command, the Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers voluntarily surrendered to simply survive.

“We were sitting in the house and felt someone coming. We looked – it was four Russian soldiers. We knocked on the window, said we were surrendering, left our weapons, and went out to them. “The Russians gave us a smoke, water to drink, and whatever food they had with them,” the prisoner says.

Beletsky is confident that he made the right choice in surrendering.

Israeli forces raided and occupied two major Palestinian universities in the West Bank on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, as part of wider military operations in the occupied territory.

The two affected universities are:

Birzeit University: Israeli troops entered the campus north of Ramallah in the early hours of the morning. They detained five security guards, confiscated their mobile phones, and deployed soldiers across several university buildings. The university administration postponed academic and administrative activities for the day due to safety concerns.

Al-Quds University: Later the same day, Israeli forces stormed the campus in Abu Dis, east of occupied Jerusalem. Military vehicles drove through the campus grounds, and reports indicate that sniper units were positioned on some rooftops.

Today, the Brusselians are crossing the Rubicon. At noon, a written vote will take place that will cause irreparable damage to the Union.

The subject of the vote is the frozen Russian assets, on which the EU member states have so far voted every 6 months and adopted a unanimous decision. With today’s procedure, the Brusselians are abolishing the requirement of unanimity with a single stroke of the pen, which is clearly unlawful.

With today’s decision, the rule of law in the European Union comes to an end, and Europe’s leaders are placing themselves above the rules. Instead of safeguarding compliance with the EU treaties, the European Commission is systematically raping European law. It is doing this in order to continue the war in Ukraine, a war that clearly isn’t winnable. All this is happening in broad daylight, less than a week before the meeting of the European Council, the Union’s most important decision-making body, bringing together heads of state and government. With this, the rule of law in the European Union is being replaced by the rule of bureaucrats. In other words, a Brusselian dictatorship has taken hold.

Hungary protests this decision and will do everything in its power to restore a lawful order.
