The land is in Masdar, Khan Younis, and the farmers started growing cucumbers and courgettes. October is the month for the new season of farming so we’re hoping to see the results in a few weeks!
Food sovereignty is a form of resistance against land dispossession and starvation. As Palestinians, our goal is to be self-sufficient by using local natural resources. As most of the bombing has stopped in Gaza, we are hoping to collaborate more with APN on farming projects and maybe beehives too

NEW: Palestinian Civil Defense spokesperson Mahmoud Basal said rescue teams have so far recovered more than 280 bodies from beneath the rubble, while an estimated 10,000 Palestinians remain buried nearly two years after Israel’s assault began.
He condemned the international community’s “double standards,” noting its urgency in recovering Israeli captives’ remains while ignoring thousands of Palestinian victims. Basal said his teams work around the clock in dire conditions but lack the heavy and advanced equipment needed to complete their missions.
“We receive dozens of appeals daily from families pleading for the recovery of their relatives’ bodies,” he said, adding that he had “provided all international organizations with detailed lists of our emergency needs and technical requirements for recovery operations.”
Basal called for immediate international action to allow recovery operations to proceed and end the humanitarian suffering in Gaza.
