Iran has proposed, repeatedly, for decades, a nuclear-free region. Iran has stated, repeatedly, for decades, that it does not seek nuclear weapons, but is asserting its right to enrich uranium and will only weaponize if attacked. Meanwhile the Israeli death-cult, which Norman Finkelstein rightly called a lunatic state, has illegally obtained nuclear weapons and has vowed to destroy the world with the Samson Option if it ever deems itself to be “existentially threatened”, and they constantly and openly talk about how they will attack and bomb Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Iran.
Yet the entire Western media and political class from across the ideological spectrum, the good liberals at the New York Times and Guardian to Fox News and Daily Wire, is presenting Iran as the evil rogue irrational “regime“ that must be put a stop too.
This is Zionist neo-con hegemony.

My new column for Berliner Zeitung on the growing Nazi apology in Ukraine and the silence of the West.
President Zelensky has invited EU leaders to Kyiv for Victory Day. Will they ask President Volodymyr Zelenskyy why some Ukrainian soldiers glorify the Waffen-SS Galicia Division and the Nachtigall Battalion?
How is this possible in a country whose people sacrificed their lives to liberate Europe from Nazism?
Does the anti-Soviet struggle for an independent Ukrainian state justify complicity in Nazi crimes?
Why do Western political elites pretend that the Nazi apology is not an issue in Ukraine?
Released Israeli-Russian prisoner Alexander Trufanov made a statement about the #Palestinian resistance that shocked occupying Israel, its supporters and agents:
“Your kindness has been engraved in my conscience forever…”
During the 498 days I lived among you, and despite the aggression and crimes you endured, I learned the true meaning of manhood, pure heroism, respect for humanity, and values.
You were the free ones under siege, while I was the prisoner — and you were the protectors of my life.
You cared for me like a loving father cares for his children.
You preserved my health, dignity, and well-being.
Even though I was in the hands of men fighting for their stolen land and rights — even while my own government was committing the worst genocide against a besieged people — you never allowed me to go hungry or be humiliated.
I never knew the true meaning of manhood until I saw it in your eyes, and I didn’t understand the value of sacrifice until I lived among you.
I saw you smile in the face of death, resisting an enemy armed with weapons of destruction, while you had nothing but your bare bodies.
No matter how eloquent I try to be, I can’t find words that reflect your true worth or express my astonishment and admiration for your noble character.
Does your religion really teach you to treat prisoners this way?
How great this faith is.”

“I want to kill your child and hang his remains on Israel’s tree.” These are not lines from a horror movie — this was a message I received on Instagram from an Israeli soldier.
I’m a father. A refugee with no home. I’m just searching for food to feed my baby — a child who knows nothing of this world but my arms and the sound of his own hunger.
But even that embrace is no longer safe.
What kind of heart threatens the life of an innocent child?
What kind of person sees a baby’s body as a tool to spread fear?
I have nothing left — no shelter, no safety, not even milk for my baby.
All I ask is for your support. Help me provide food, warmth, and life for my child.
Every bit of support is a lifeline. Every share is a stand against cruelty.
Please, don’t leave us alone.

British Jewish leaders come out to condemn Israel’s war in Gaza
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSTR_nkl5FQ)
36 members of the Board of Deputies of British Jews have published an open letter criticising the Israeli government’s military actions in Gaza, saying they can ‘no longer remain silent’.
Robert Stone explains why he has signed the letter (02:05) and caller Jamie (08:08) gives his reaction.
The Board of Deputies is the largest body representing British Jews. The board has traditionally supported the Israeli government. But the letter is highly critical of recent actions by the Israeli government.
With particular reference to the killings of 15 paramedics, the letter says: “Such incidents are too painful and shocking to take in, but we know in our hearts we cannot turn a blind eye or remain silent at this renewed loss of life and livelihoods, with hopes dwindling for a peaceful reconciliation and the return of the hostages.”

i’ve gone to the Reuters news agency to
0:03
get as an independent as I can figure
0:04
for the number of fatalities in the Gaza
0:07
conflict since of course the horrific
0:08
attacks of October 7th and their number
0:10
comes in at approximately
0:12
50,000 that’s
0:14
50,000 lives lost you and I have talked
0:17
about this many times and we can all
0:18
have our views i am not Jewish i have a
0:21
lot of friends who are Jewish and I
0:23
sense particularly from one of the
0:24
stories in the newspapers today that in
0:26
this area for some it might be difficult
0:29
to balance their faith with the
0:31
activities of the Israeli government now
0:34
of course for heaven’s sake you are
0:36
perfectly at liberty to be Jewish and
0:37
not agree with a single thing the
0:39
Israeli government does they’re very
0:42
very distinct and different
0:44
entities but how difficult it is it as
0:46
you see and I’m not going to use words
0:48
such as slaughter or whatever just as
0:49
the killing that’s a cold harsh but true
0:51
word as the killing
0:54
continues well dozens of Jewish leaders
0:56
have now broken what seems to have been
0:58
fair to say almost a mortislike silence
1:01
to condemn the Israeli government’s
1:03
renewal offensive in Gaza in what’s
1:06
described as an open letter 36 elected
1:08
members of the board of deputies of
1:10
British Jews and just to explain for you
1:12
who don’t have a working knowledge
1:13
that’s the largest representative body
1:15
in the United Kingdom and you’ll hear
1:17
from a signature in a moment warned that
1:19
is and this is their words Israel’s soul
1:21
is being ripped out by Benjamin
1:23
Netanyahu’s government they say they
1:26
cannot remain silent at this renewed
1:28
loss of life and livelihoods in Gaza and
1:31
point the blame towards extremists in
1:33
the administration for encouraging
1:34
attacks against Palestinians in the
1:37
occupied West Bank and this letter is
1:39
the first public show of opposition to
1:41
Israel’s 18-month war against Hamas in
1:44
Gaza it highlights what one newspaper
1:47
the Times says is a growing division
1:50
among Britain’s Jews over Israel’s
1:52
policies particularly those hardline
1:54
policies espoused by Prime Minister
1:56
Netanyahu enough from me let’s speak
1:58
with one of the signatures robert Stone
2:00
is a member of the Board of Deputies of
2:02
British Jews and joins me now thank you
2:03
for coming on sir what encouraged you to
2:05
put your name to this letter good
2:06
morning uh thank you very much for
2:09
having me on Nick um and I think you’ve
2:11
summed it up very well um it’s it is
2:14
indeed a very difficult position because
2:16
you know as Jews we love the state of
2:18
Israel we support the state of Israel
2:20
that doesn’t mean um supporting the
2:23
Israeli government but the board as an
2:26
body doesn’t criticize the Israeli
2:28
government because it’s an elected
2:29
government um so it’s a very it’s a bit
2:32
of a dilemma but that things have now
2:34
got to a point
2:36
where a number of us uh feel that we can
2:40
no longer remain silent you you’ve
2:41
summarized very clearly what we we we
2:44
think uh that Israel has uh is that the
2:48
present government is tearing the soul
2:50
out of Israel there were um peace
2:53
negotiations going on and uh as a result
2:56
of those negotiations 135 hostages were
2:59
released and uh there were international
3:02
bodies Arab and American uh governments
3:05
uh were supporting the ceasefire and
3:08
Israel at uh at that point chose to
3:12
break the ceasefire because it Bengavier
3:15
was rejoining the government and his
3:18
extremist views prevailed and they have
3:21
they have um uh they’ve um uh encouraged
3:26
violence against not just in Gaza
3:28
they’ve encouraged violence against
3:30
Palestinians in the West Bank they’re
3:31
doing more settlements than ever and we
3:34
felt that we really had to speak out it
3:37
couldn’t be a few years ago Mr stone I
3:40
was asking my listeners how easy was it
3:41
to be Jewish in this country and support
3:43
the Labour Party and credit to Sakir
3:45
Stalma I think he’s done as good a job
3:47
as can be expected of getting the
3:48
scourge of anti-semitism out of those
3:50
ranks so let me ask you now how easy is
3:52
it to be British Jewish in this country
3:53
and support the Israeli government then
3:56
well you see from our letter we find
3:58
it’s impossible we support the state of
4:00
Israel we support the right of Jews to
4:02
have a state in Israel but the Israeli
4:04
government is is actually undermining
4:06
that by behaving in this appalling
4:08
manner now if Mr netanyahu one of his
4:10
spokespeople were here he would say
4:11
“What you have to understand Mr stone is
4:13
we have to do this because we have to
4:15
destroy Hamas we have to make Israel
4:17
safe and we have to get those hostages
4:18
or sadly in some instances possibly
4:20
their remains we have to get them back
4:22
mr stone you don’t have to that there
4:25
there were negotiations taking place
4:27
there was a possibility of an
4:29
alternative way of running Palestine you
4:31
don’t have to kill 50,000 people in
4:34
order to achieve peace then they would
4:37
counter Mr stone you have to understand
4:38
at least 18 possibly 20 possibly half of
4:41
those people are Hamas terrorists are
4:42
you not aware of that they would say
4:45
well I don’t know what the numbers were
4:47
of course there were Hamas terrorists
4:48
among those killed but that is no excuse
4:50
for the indiscriminate attacks on um
4:53
Palestinians and the uh in Gaza and
4:57
indeed in the West Bank and the
4:59
increasing of the number of settlements
5:01
that’s not a way of getting peace what
5:03
do you hope your letter will bring about
5:09
i don’t believe I I don’t really think
5:11
we have the power to bring bring about a
5:13
huge change in the world but there are
5:15
two things I hope it will bring about
5:17
there are three things the first thing
5:18
is we had to speak out we cannot be
5:21
bystanders we all Jews know very well
5:25
what the result of bystanders being
5:27
bystanders
5:29
is through our history and we felt we
5:31
could no longer be bystanders while
5:34
Palestinians in Gaza were being
5:35
massacred and and and and so on
5:39
secondly
5:40
there there is a tendency among people
5:43
to think that because we’re Jews we
5:44
support Israel and the Israeli
5:45
government and it’s very difficult
5:47
position because we do support Israel um
5:50
and the board of deputies is in a
5:52
difficult position as a body because
5:53
they represent all British Jews we felt
5:55
that we want to make it clear that very
5:57
many
5:58
deputies feel that way feel the way we
6:01
we did it by the way the 36 of us signed
6:04
the letter i know a number of deputies
6:06
who felt they didn’t have time to
6:08
consult their chairs or their
6:10
constituencies but felt the same way
6:12
okay lastly at what point did the
6:15
actions of the Israeli government cross
6:17
the line that is to say in the aftermath
6:20
of that horrific attack was
6:21
proportionate response okay or was the
6:24
initial response you still question what
6:26
the IDF did in those opening days
6:28
absolutely no the the the initial
6:30
response was absolutely spot on yes we
6:32
had to fight back obviously um that was
6:36
uh Hamas was committing an act of what
6:39
90 to genocide and and it was horrendous
6:41
and of course we had to fight back and
6:43
we did fight back and as a result of
6:44
fighting back we had supported by um uh
6:48
America Gata Egypt and so on we had
6:50
negotiations in place for a ceasefire
6:55
and it was only because we had to
6:57
satisfy the extremists or Netanyahu had
7:00
to satisfy the extremist that he broke
7:01
that ceasefire that ceasefire could have
7:04
led to peace in Gaza finally we’re
7:06
having this conversation well I’m in
7:08
London I assume i don’t know where you
7:09
are but we’re certainly having this
7:10
conversation in the United Kingdom what
7:11
should Seca Star be doing is he offering
7:13
too much and indeed possibly even
7:14
President Trump is there too much
7:16
unquestioning support for Binyan
7:17
Netanyahu in Israel i’m in Stanwell um
7:21
there we are why am I surprised if
7:24
you’ll take that in the spirit in which
7:25
it’s intended that’s still LBC
7:28
territory though uh uh it’s not for now
7:33
of course it’s not for me to dictate
7:34
what the British or American government
7:36
should do i think uh again Karma is
7:39
treading a a fine line and as always uh
7:42
I’m a Labor supporter he is doing it
7:44
with great skill um I think he should
7:47
carry on exactly as he is enjoyed our
7:49
conversation have a pleasant weekend if
7:51
you’re going to holiday through it
7:52
robert Stone you’re on the board of
7:53
deputies of British Jews you’re one of
7:54
the signatures of the letter let’s get
7:55
your voices on the radio that’s what
7:56
we’re about in the morning james in
7:58
Harrow what would you say to this Jamie
8:00
good morning good morning Nick uh first
8:02
of all I’d like to say that I’m also
8:04
calling from Stammore so I’ll probably
8:05
be the gentleman in synagogue okay um
8:07
but what I do want to say is whilst the
8:09
current government in Israel can’t be
8:11
supported in all they do I think I like
8:13
to often raise the question if a more
8:14
leftwing government was in power how
8:16
would their policies actually differ
8:18
because it’s very easy to question it’s
8:20
a very e you know it’s really easy to
8:22
forget we’re dealing with a terrorist
8:23
organization here who control what goes
8:25
on in Gaza and whilst there’s a lot of
8:27
light shed on what Israel are doing both
8:29
the US for example and Israeli
8:30
intelligence have believed that they
8:32
were both operating for example out of
8:33
the Alshifa hospital and the thing is
8:35
Nick if Israel did want to commit a
8:37
genocide in Gaza then they’re doing a
8:38
terrible job because they have the power
8:40
to have done that already and it’s been
8:41
a year and a half and they haven’t so no
8:43
I don’t agree with the previous
8:44
gentlemen that all of Israel’s attacks
8:46
are indiscriminate as well what if this
8:48
renewed offensive though this recently
8:50
renewed offensive Jamie is that is that
8:52
proportionate to you i think it’s a
8:55
really difficult question i I don’t
8:56
think there’s ever going to be a
8:58
proportionate response because Gaza is
9:00
an extremely densely populated area and
9:03
there’s never going to be a way that
9:04
Israel can single-handedly pick out the
9:06
Hamas terrorists and and you know make
9:08
sure that no civilian casualties occur
9:10
it’s impossible so whilst I don’t agree
9:12
with all of the things that the Israeli
9:14
government have done I’ve protested
9:15
against them in Israel before i think
9:17
it’s really important that as Jewish
9:18
people we have to you know support the
9:20
the state of Israel we have to support
9:22
the Israeli government i know we can’t
9:24
support them in all they do but it’s
9:26
really really important that we support
9:27
them because in my opinion I don’t
9:29
believe they’re trying to kill as many
9:31
Palestinians as possible because I think
9:32
they would have already done that i do
9:34
believe that they are trying to pick out
9:35
the Hamas terrorists where you know as
9:37
and when they can so just to clarify
9:38
lastly then Jamie you do support their
9:41
actions with this renewed offensive or
9:43
you don’t i it’s a very difficult
9:46
question i can’t say I wholeheartedly
9:47
support them but I also can’t You just
9:49
said you have to support you said we
9:50
have to support obviously because of the
9:52
the perilous nature at times that Israel
9:54
finds itself you have to offer constant
9:56
