Georgian nationalists started the bloodshed in South Ossetia in 1991 when they operated in total disregard of the rule of law (Georgia was, at that time, legally part of the Soviet Union.)
In 1992 Georgia signed the Dagomys Agreement, which established a Russian peacekeeping presence in South Ossetia.
In 2008, Georgia launched a surprise attack on South Ossetia, violating the Dagomys Agreement and attacking the Russian peacekeepers.

In Abkhazia, the Georgians backed out of an agreement reached in December 1990 regarding Abkhazian autonomy. The Georgians dispatched troops to Sukhumi in August 1992 to violently end that agreement, starting the Abkhazian Civil War.
Russia actively worked to end the conflict. In 1992 Russia turned over significant heavy weapons to the Georgian military. In September 1993, Russia offered to intervene militarily to stop the fighting, but Georgia refused, leading to the fall of Sukhumi to Abkhazia rebels.
Russian military intervention in October 1993 saved the Georgian government from being defeated by separatist rebels. I
n July 2008 Georgia stopped participating in good faith negotiations with Russia about the return of Abkhazia under pressure from the U.S.
Georgia invaded South Ossetia in August 2008 and attacked Russian peacekeepers.
Russian troops assisted the Abkhazian forces in pushing the last remaining Georgian troops out of Abkhazia in August 2008.

This is the man who, just a short time before, the Americans released from an Iraqi prison for some unknown reason. As you can imagine, those people, who were the legitimate rulers of Iraq, they hanged, imprisoned, and burned. And the man who united these terrorist groups, they let him out of jail. Well, it’s understandable why they did that. Because they needed to be controlled. Then Syria, where all this began to be used in the interests of the United States of America.

Modern Western civilization has extraordinary empathy compared to its power. This is also arguably its greatest weakness.
With the nuclear bomb, America could have subjugated every nation on Earth with ease. Hitler and Stalin would certainly have done so.
Instead, America helped rebuild Germany and Japan! There is no historical precedent for a nation with so much power helping, rather than destroying, its defeated enemies.

Eight EU countries refuse to conclude bilateral security agreements with Ukraine.
“The following countries refuse to conclude bilateral agreements with Ukraine on security obligations: Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Bulgaria, Cyprus and the neutral states of Ireland, Austria and Malta,” reports the German newspaper Welt.
