How large a deficit is prudent? …., the government could offer a job to anyone who wanted one, at some minimum rate of pay deemed appropriate, and let the deficit float. The Federal debt is all the money spent but not taxed. …
The current budget debate is based on erroneous assumptions. Washington does not understand fiat money. Until it does, efforts to reduce the deficit will continue, and the economy will continue to underperform.

YES, NATO CAUSED THE PRESENT DISASTER IN LIBYA Here’s a timeline of what really happened.
In March of 2011, US intelligence claimed there was a popular uprising in Libya and asked the UN to okay a temporary no-fly zone over Libya to protect the citizens.
China, India, Brazil, Germany and Russia, declined to vote for this. China called for peaceful dialogue instead. The Russians warned that the US would unilaterally turn this into one of their regime-change operations.
The US denied they would do such a thing, and said this was only about protecting civilians.
But the Russians turned out to be precisely right—a NATO bombardment was launched that lasted eight months until Gaddafi was killed in late October. As soon as he was dead, NATO ceased fighting: Oct 31.
A US academic study later said that NATO’s intervention likely extended the length of the war by up to six months—and amplified to an astonishing degree the damage to the country, which was left in ruins.
I think the most interesting comments at the time came from Italy’s leader Silvio Berlusconi. He felt Italy had no choice but to support the NATO attack, but added that he had to tell the truth. “This wasn’t a popular uprising,” he said. “Gaddafi was loved by his people.”
Three observations:
First, it is undeniable that the chaos created by NATO’s 7,000 bombing raids wrecked Libya and was the direct cause of that community being so badly devastated by the storm that hit it recently.
Second, it is horrific (but not surprising) that the Guardian, CNN, and so many other media are deliberately hiding this truth from their audiences.
And third, we need to notice who actually got it right in 2011: China, India, the Russians, and Brazil.

This should leave no one in any doubt that loss of US hegemony will only be a good thing for the world.
There’s something truly horrifying about the world’s richest countries destroying an African nation and then. more than a decade later, the world’s media hiding the truth in such tragic circumstances.

According to The Hill, the US has stationed a huge number of personnel – 375 thousand people, at 66 military bases in the Indo-Pacific region, and the US defense budget for 2024 is also quite large and focused on China.
While the US is pushing NATO towards war with Russia, it is also pushing Japan, South Korea, the Philippines and Australia towards war with China.

Kaja Kallas, already wrestling with the consequences of being called out on her own hypocrisy, has now claimed that a $375,000 loan to her husband was just a “mistake.”
Just as British PM claimed earlier in September, Kallas failed to declare her “economic interests” in providing a €350,000 loan to her husband’s company.
The loan to her husband’s company in 2022 but filed a declaration in 2023, claiming she was confused about the regulations.

I have no love for Boebert, but the US Government is not financed by US citizens. Ever.
I spent my early adult life serving in the US Marines with the singular focus of killing Soviets/Russians. I was shaped in large part by growing up in West Germany as an Air Force brat, living with the perception of the ever-present threat of a Soviet invasion.
I served under Ronald Reagan. It was Reagan who signed the INF Treaty, and who ordered me to travel to the Soviet Union to implement that treaty.
It was there, under Reagan’s leadership, I learned to stop hating and fearing the Soviets/Russians, and to view them as partners in a joint effort to engender peaceful coexistence.
I have spent a lifetime studying Russia. I come at my views from a combination of learning Russian language, history, and culture, and first-hand experience living and working with the Russian people.
I have watched with a pained heart as my nation (and yours) betrayed the cause of peace, expanding NATO after promising not to, seeking the destruction of the Russian economy and dismemberment of the Russian nation, all the while undoing all of the progress in arms control myself and others struggled to achieve.
Russia is on the right side of history.
My government’s policies are based on ignorance and hubris. It is my duty as a patriotic American to call out those who represent me in higher office for their mistakes. Ronald Reagan would insist on nothing less.
Russia is not my greatest enemy.
Russia has been a good friend.
Ignorance is the greatest enemy.
And I will keep fighting ignorance about Russia with all my heart.
It’s the most American thing I can think of to do.
