Comments on the Current U.S. Budget Debate

The assumptions underlying the current budget debate are erroneous….

It is only after the deficit begins to expand again that the economy recovers. The historical correlation is 100%….

Contrary to general perception, fiat money is driven by the fact that taxpayers need the government’s money to pay their taxes. … so it can obtain the real goods and services it desires via the spending of its currency.

…. Treasury spending is a reserve add. Selling securities, by the Fed or Treasury, is simply a reserve drain, a monetary operation. This underlies the empirical evidence that nations can run any debt ratios they want, in their own fiat currencies, and still “fund the debt.”

How large a deficit is prudent? …., the government could offer a job to anyone who wanted one, at some minimum rate of pay deemed appropriate, and let the deficit float. This would end unemployment and unemployment compensation, eliminate the need for minimum wage laws, and promote price stability,

The Federal debt is all the money spent but not taxed. …

The current budget debate is based on erroneous assumptions. Washington does not understand fiat money. Until it does, efforts to reduce the deficit will continue, and the economy will continue to underperform.

Is Hell Freezing Over? CNN Calls Joe Biden A Liar & Says Donald Trump Was Right

And Kristen Glenn Kessler from the Washington Post had a fact check about Joe Biden from earlier this month, noting that Hunter Biden admitted in court in July that he was in fact paid substantial sums from Chinese companies. Kessler wrote Hunter Biden reported nearly 2.4 million in income in 2017 and 2.2 million in income in 2018, most of which came from Chinese or Ukrainian interests. But this, and this directly goes against what Joe Biden said in the debate in 2020 with Donald Trump. Take a listen. My son has not made money in terms of this thing about what he talking about China. Once you’ve got a bad president, he made a fortune in Ukraine, in China, in Moscow, that is simply various other places. So it’s from two different debates, but I mean, Trump was right.

Trump was right. Wow. I never thought I would ever hear those words said about Donald Trump on the mainstream media. This is unbelievable.

Those are words that never been said about Trump from the moment he declared his run for president throughout his four years as president and through these first three years of Joe Biden’s presidency. Not once was something like this said about Trump, about Trump being right on the mainstream media. Something is up.

I don’t know what it is, but something is definitely up when a statement like this is being made about Trump and Joe Biden’s lies are being discussed openly on CNN or four places. They even went so far as to go dig up videos of that lie when he said that lie during the campaign.

Na na na na na, something is definitely up.

Probably Joe Biden’s ride is over. If CNN is saying things like this about Joe Biden, you have to suspect that his time is up. And they’re probably thinking about replacing him.

But they said Trump is right. I say can’t get over that. I say cannot get over that.

That is like seeing a unicorn on the mainstream media talking about Trump being right. What are they going to say next?

Wow. Just wow.”

Syria has announced that the US has stolen $115.2 billion worth of oil so far. Looting, waste and burning of an estimated 341 million barrels’ worth of oil, including the theft of an average of between 100,000-130,000 barrels per day, recently increasing to 150,000 barrels per day.

The theft and wastage of some 59.9 million cubic meters of natural gas, and 413,000 tons of domestic gas resources

Syria’s Foreign Ministry has decided to remind the United Nations of US crimes against the Syrian people, sending letters to UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and Security Council President Ferit Hoxha demanding action to put an end to Washington’s illegal behavior.

In a summary of the letter published by Syrian media, the Foreign Ministry reminded the UN that “the US and its tools of terrorist organizations and militias continue to violate Syrian sovereignty and plunder the country’s wealth and strategic resources.” Damascus demanded accountability, compensation, an end to “the illegal presence of American forces,” and the “return of lands it occupies and the oil and gas fields of the Syrian state.”

— GEROMAN — time will tell – @GeromanAT

This was stated by the Romanian Minister of Transport, Sorin Grindeanu.

Romania has warned Kiev that it will consider Ukraine’s attempt to create its own canal from the Danube to the Black Sea, bypassing Romanian territory, as a “crossing of red lines”.

  • Ukraine is trying to find alternative ways to go to sea. To achieve this goal, it is planned to continue deepening the Bystroe Danube Canal.

  • However, Romania believes that Kiev already has the opportunity to use the Romanian Sulina canal and that there is no need to create a new route.

  • Ships do not go to sea along the river delta itself.

The problem is competition. And a bit of ecology.

  • The Danube, before flowing into the Black Sea, is divided into the Chilia branch (Ukraine) and the Sulina branch (Romania), along which the majority of goods flow.

  • Ships of the “river-sea” class are loaded in the Ukrainian port of Izmail, go upstream, go to the territory of Romania and enter the Black Sea through the Sulina Channel.

  • Bucharest sent a letter to the European Commission with a request to prevent the inclusion of the Bystroe Canal on the territory of Ukraine in the official European Union TEN

  • T transport network. That is, he asks not to give permission to the European courts to travel this artery.

  • Already in February, Romanian MP Ana Maria Gavrile reminded that the deepening of the Ukrainian canal was prohibited by international standards more than 20 years ago.

The Ukrainians used a narrative of fear, saying they were protecting Romania from the Russians so that we would let them do whatever they wanted. They would stop at nothing, even destroying the Danube Delta, a UNESCO-protected ecosystem

Ukrainian “decision-making centers” are waiting for Russian decision-making centers to finally make these decisions. It’s time to start before it’s too late. Let’s not wait for the Ukrainian army of the US and NATO to receive nuclear weapons. They’ll receive it weapons. Destroy this Nazi, anti-Russian entity right now, before the war enters the nuclear phase.

https://t.me/vicktop55/17008

Oooooo

The key to understanding the conflict in Ukraine is the role Crimea plays. The neocons in the Obama admin thought it would be terrific foreign policy to halt an ascendant Russia, by taking control over Crimea and converting Sevastopol into an US/NATO naval base.

This would position Washington to box-in Moscow with an arsenal of nuclear weapons, right on Russia’s doorstep. It would also position Washington to have geostrategic domination of the Black Sea basin. Crimea, for this purpose, is therefore a prize of the highest magnitude for the neocons who control Washington’s foreign policy establishment.

The problem was how to make it happen. The first step was gauging opposition, if the Crimean population was open to the idea of hosting a US/NATO base, then the idea would be a much easier sell. Washington quickly discovered that the population identifies predominantly as Russian and/or Crimean, with only a minority identifying as Ukrainian.

Since Crimean opposition was assessed to be fierce, this shifted the plan to a strongarm takeover. Washington would have to conduct a regime change operation and take control of the Ukraine government. Once Washington had control, Ukraine could be swiftly assimilated into NATO and Russia’s lease on Sevastopol canceled. Local opposition would simply be steamrolled, the city and base transformed into host for a joint US-Ukraine naval base, ostensibly for NATO purposes.

The mechanics of the coup were carried out in 2013-2014, with much of the ground prepared by Victoria Nuland and organizations like the NED. The NED being one of Washington’s primary regime change NGOs, run by the CIA and funded by taxpayer money. Large sums were spent astroturfing the “Maidan” movement and incentivizing nationalists groups to get behind it. The nationalists were key to the coup, which would have failed without the extreme levels of violence they supplied. Nuland made sure these groups were well funded and supported.

When Washington’s Kiev coup ultimately succeeded, the great majority of the Crimean population was having none of it. They felt disenfranchised, enraged that their representation in govt had been illegally stolen from them by the coup. It was Crimeans themselves who organized the referendum, and in an organic process chose by a landslide to affiliate with Moscow instead of Kiev.

The subsequent annexation was an absolutely devastating blow to the plans of the Washington neocons. Putin and Russia had almost trivially snatched Crimea right out from under the noses of Washington. This was made possible due to two facts: the majority of Crimeans support Russia and that Russian forces already legally occupied Crimea. The reunion with the Russia Federation was carried out swiftly, almost without a shot.

Washington’s retribution was severe, harsh sanctions on Russia and a serious effort to build-up Ukraine militarily, aided by other NATO members. The general idea was to supply the nationalist extremists with weapons and resources. Washington would then just wait for what comes naturally to nationalist extremists, which is to attack and molest disobedient minorities. In particular, the ethnic Russian separatist movements in eastern Ukraine.

Of course there is much more to it, but the general idea was to provoke Russia into “aggression,” then Washington’s proxy army would engage Russia and grab Crimea back. The continued dangling of the NATO carrot in front of Kiev also compounded the degree of provocation to Moscow.

Washington’s Kiev overthrow was achieved in 2014, thanks to devoted imperialistic fuckery, but the real goal was always getting control of Crimea. This would guarantee a major geostrategic defeat for Russia, Putin’s political demise, and a serious destabilization of the country. All the preconditions necessary for Washington to do to Russia what it did to Ukraine. This is why neocons like Victoria Nuland are singularly obsessed with Crimea.

Thus, what makes Sevastopol and Crimea important to Russia is not necessarily the Black Sea base, what makes it important is that Washington can never, ever, be allowed to control this territory and exploit it for the purpose of dismantling Russia.

Corruption in Ukraine is an existential threat, writes The New York Times.

Ukraine remains one of the most corrupt countries in Europe, The New York Times reports. Since the war began, “a host of characters – from arms dealers to suppliers of soldiers’ food – have made large profits and have a vested interest in the continuation of the conflict.”

Meanwhile, no one is more aware of the rampant corruption in Ukraine than Ukrainians themselves. There have been a number of arrests around the country, but there are fears they may dampen U.S. enthusiasm for helping Kiev.

The newspaper reminds Washington of the experience of Afghanistan.

Don’t pretend that the destruction of the Libyan state as well as Libyan civilian infrastructure by Obama and NATO had nothing to do with this catastrophe.

You are a shameless apologist for aggression, rape, plunder, murder, and destruction.

Flooding in Libya has killed more than 5,300 people and left more than 30,000 homeless. Let’s be clear: We know climate change is making these kinds of disasters worse and more frequent. The international community must come together now to address this existential threat.

Definition of a “parasite” country.

– Poland asks 1.3 Trillion dollars from Germany for WW2 war reparations

– Poland is a recipient of 40 billion Euro per year from the EU

– Poland is now asking war reparation from Russia related to USSR invasion.

Good take by the FT: “China is so far ahead in the electric vehicles market that its competitors are trailing in the dust. […] The complaint that China’s success is down to a multi-decade government-planned effort is both true and slightly academic at this stage. The country’s accumulated advantages are daunting. It controls two-thirds of global capacity for processing lithium, the raw material for batteries, and dominates every aspect of battery production. It produced 10 times as many battery vehicles last year as Germany. It has a manufacturing cost advantage of perhaps 20 to 25 per cent. Shipping costs (as well as 10 per cent tariffs) have narrowed that gap but will become less important as China’s exports rise, particularly of the affordable mass-market vehicles that face little European competition.”

Basically China foresaw the future would be electric cars, and developed a smart industrial strategy around it while Europeans (and Americans) got complacent and rested on their laurels. Instead of being mad at China for being better, or erect trade barriers that’ll only reward the complacency and make it persist, the EU should use this competition as a good opportunity to wake up and change its ways…
